…”still full of sap, still green, to proclaim that the Lord is good”

Two recent events have brought to life these words from psalm 92.

Accompanied by their leader, Sr. Hilda, The Golden Wonders Club from the Carmelite Community Centre in Whitefriar Street visited the Margaret Aylward Centre in Glasnevin on Tuesday, 4 December for an afternoon that included, prayer, carol singing, a little dancing, tea and lot of fun! This wonderful and lively group of ladies come together regularly for activities and outings. However, they are always conscious of the ways in which they can help others and over the past number of years they have raised over €26,000 for charity. As part of their afternoon they presented a donation to Sr. Jacinta who will be travelling to work with Solidarity with South Sudan early in the new year.

On Thursday, 6 December the Residents and Staff of Marian House held their annual Sale of Work. A delightful and colourful display of art and crafts made during the year greeted the visitors. An aromatic fruit punch warmed us up and bargains and shopping was accompanied by lots of chat and fun. Each year a chosen charity benefits from the proceeds and this year over €1,000 was sent to the Capuchin Day Centre in Church Street.
